The book is so much better than the movie! It made me so sad to see how much they screwed with the story. Stupid frikking Hollywood.

This book just about broke my heart. I wanted to read it simply because it was about the life of Dare Wright, the author of my favorite children’s book(http://elizasbooks.tumblr.com/post/11942950385/this-was-a-favorite-of-my-mothers-when-she-was-a). One chapter in though,I had completely forgotten about “The Lonely Doll” and was totally engrossed in this woman’s life and many heart aches. Her life was an amazing story that would deserve being told whether or not “The Lonely Doll” had been written.

This was a favorite of my Mothers when she was a child,she read it to me when I was little and when I have my own babies you can bet your boots this will be one of the first books I read to them :)

This book reminds me so much of my own family it makes me feel like I’m reading some of my own memories. Lovely,lovely,but very sad,wonderful story.
